Three return tickets (for self,wife and adult daughter, EaseMyTrip Bkg ID's- EMT54896632,Ticket No.-0163472290334/EMT54895734,Ticket No.0163472290329/ EMT54896071,Ticket No.-0163472290335) were booked by me in January,2019 for visit to USA in June/July,2019 on United Airlines Flights UA-49/UA-48. Return Flight from Newark to Mumbai (UA-48/4th July,2019) was cancelled by United Airlines. No intimation was given either by the airline or the Travel Agent EaseMyTrip regarding cancellation of flight thereby causing great inconvenience and hardship to us and upsetting our schedule. We had to travel to Mumbai by another flight(Swiss Air) on 7th July,2019. Refund request was made on 3rd July,2019 to United Airlines on learning about the cancellation of the flight while doing on line checking-in and to Travel Agent EaseMyTrip on 15 July,2019 after returning to Mumbai. Refund has not yet been received. As per EaseMyTrip, refund has not yet been received from United Airlines and hence it can not be given. Purchase of ticket was made by credit card, and as per the policy of the United Airlines, refund should have been given in 7 business days. When contacted, United Airlines Customer Care advised that the refund was granted on 3rd July,2019 under Confirmation Code “HCJR4D”. However EaseMyTrip denies having received the refund. This is unreasonable and unjustified delay in giving refund. Refund should have been given within 7-8 days and if delayed, interest for delayed refund should be payable and penalty/fine for harassment/inconvinience/hardship caused should also be payable. This is to request you to look into the matter and do the needful to get refund without any further delay alongwith interest/ fine/ penalty.
