I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I encountered with the refund policy at Rajhans Theater, and I would appreciate your intervention in this matter.
On 30 April, 2024 I had booked tickets for the 2:45 PM show at Rajhans Theater through BookMyShow. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to attend the screening. Understanding that such situations can happen to anyone, I reached out to the theater management to request a refund or a transfer of my booking to the 6:30 PM show, which had available seats.
To my disappointment, I was informed that the theater's policy does not allow for refunds, even if the movie has not been watched, and my request for a transfer was denied. This policy seems unjustifiable, especially in today's era of advanced technologies where flexibility and customer-centric approaches are becoming increasingly common.
I am aware that BookMyShow, for certain theaters, has policies in place where refunds are provided with deductions for necessary charges. However, I believe that customers should be adequately informed about such policies prior to making payments. If warnings were not provided, then a full refund should be granted, in my opinion.
Given the circumstances and the lack of flexibility in the refund policy, I kindly request your office to look into this matter and consider implementing regulations or guidelines to ensure fair and transparent refund policies are in place for all theaters, including Rajhans Theater.
